Colorado man arrested, charged with sexual assault and supplying drugs to minors

A man in Colorado's high country has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and drug delivery to a minor. Summit County investigators arrested Jason Brown after a three-month investigation into multiple sexual assaults in 2022 and 2023.

Investigators began investigating a possible sexual assault in July between Brown, then 41, and the victim, a juvenile.

According to investigators, Brown met the victim at a bus stop in Silverthorne. Over the next year, he maintained a relationship with the victim by taking his time and making more than 1,000 calls to him. The investigation also revealed that Brown assaulted the teen and gave him alcohol, cocaine and ketamine.

Summit County investigators said multiple witnesses, phone records and other evidence corroborated the victim's account.

Investigators arrested Brown at his home on Wednesday. He was booked into the Summit County Detention Center on three counts of sexual assault, attempting to influence a public official and aiding and abetting the delinquency of a minor.

“This is a stark reminder that predators continue to target our children in Summit County. “I want to thank the dedicated investigators and deputies who worked tirelessly to solve this case, resulting in a significant arrest,” said Summit County Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons.

Brown was released from jail on bail and is scheduled to appear in Summit County Court on November 6 at 1:30 p.m
