Toledo man found unconscious in his car and arrested for drug trafficking

Bowling Green police were dispatched to the 100 block of West Gypsy Lane Road on Tuesday for an unconscious man.

According to Dispatch, the man, identified as Jarren Salisbury, 30, Toledo, was in a Ford Fiesta on the grocery side of the store. According to the Bowling Green Police Division report, Bowling Green Fire/EMS also responded to the scene.

When officers arrived around 7:20 p.m., they were flagged down by the caller who told them he couldn't wake Salisbury. The vehicle was running and Salisbury was found slumped in the driver's seat, according to the report.

Officers knocked on the truck's window several times, but Salisbury did not respond. The officers then opened the door and parked the vehicle. According to the report, Salisbury became semi-conscious when officers shook his arm.

Salisbury showed signs of an overdose. When the officers asked if he had taken anything, he said no. Salisbury said he was tired and had fallen asleep. According to the report, Salisbury's speech was slurred while speaking to officers.

As Salisbury exited the vehicle, he clasped his hands behind his back, indicating he believed he was under arrest. According to the report, another man was held at the store during that time and was also showing signs of an overdose.

Salisbury was taken to the hospital, where staff found two Xanax tablets while treating Salisbury. According to the report, hospital staff told officers they were concerned Salisbury had needles on him because he was wearing a sweatshirt under his gown.

Officers searched the sleeping Salisbury and found $1,747.35 in cash, as well as three plastic bags containing a brown powdery substance suspected to be fentanyl (11.96 grams), one plastic bag containing a white powdery substance (6.22 grams), one plastic bag containing According to the report, it was a green powdery substance (0.74 grams) and 53 Xanax tablets (15.90 grams).

Salisbury was handcuffed to the stretcher because the other detained man arrived at the hospital also showing signs of an overdose. According to the report, Salisbury was asked to provide a urine sample but refused.

Salisbury was arrested for trafficking fentanyl, drug possession and physical control/refusal. He was taken to prison.

As officers helped tow the Ford Fiesta, they found a crack pipe containing 1.17 grams of suspected crack/cocaine, according to the report.
