Reports: Paul Pogba's doping ban has been reduced to 18 months

Over the last 12 months, as Paul Pogba failed off the pitch, Juventus' stance has always been the same: the club will wait until the entire process is completed and then make a final decision on the Frenchman's future in Turin.

This is despite the fact that Pogba was already given a four-year ban in February and only an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport was the last resort for Pogba to ever play for Juventus again.

So…

According to a report from Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, which has since been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano and others in Italy, 31-year-old Pogba's four-year ban will be reduced to just 18 months by CAS. This means that two very important things for Pogba are not too far away: he can return to training with Juventus in January and could well be available for actual playing time in March. Pogba, who has two years left on the four-year contract he signed with Juventus in the summer of 2022, has received the required minimum salary since he was provisionally suspended in September 2023 after failing a doping test following Juventus' season opener against Udinese.

Do the math and Pogba has already served 13 months of his ban since the day in September when the interim ban was imposed.

Mokbel adds that the original fine Pogba had to pay has also been waived.
