Rusk Police are investigating a serious incident that left a student injured

RUSK, Texas – Rusk Police are investigating after a student was injured on campus.

A statement from Rusk ISD said there was a “serious incident” on the Rusk High School campus Wednesday in which a student was injured. The district said the administration is reviewing internal procedures and working with local law enforcement to conduct an investigation into the situation.

The guardians of all students involved have been contacted by campus administration and the district is working with them to resolve the matter, Rusk ISD said.

“Rusk ISD does not tolerate this type of behavior on the part of our students and while we cannot discuss individual disciplinary action, please know that we will follow state education regulations and local guidelines to ensure that disciplinary consequences are commensurate with the severity of the offense “are consistent,” said a spokesperson for Rusk ISD. “The safety of our students remains our top priority and we will continue to review our policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone on campus.”
