Red Flag Warning and Dust Warning for Eastern Washington Ahead of Cold Front | Spokane News

SPOKANE, Wash. – A red flag warning was issued for the Palouse region as of Thursday evening, along with dust warnings for the Spokane region on Friday.

An aggressive cold front will bring wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph, potentially raising dust and reducing visibility (1/2 to 1 mile) across Spokane County, Lincoln County, Grant County, Adams County and portions of Chelan County is restricted. Increased fire danger is also expected in the Palouse, Snake River and Hells Canyon areas throughout the afternoon.

While there is a chance of rain with this system, forecast models vary, predicting totals between 0.10 and 0.25 inches.

Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, with overnight lows in the low to upper 30s.

Winds are expected to ease overnight Friday into Saturday, causing the weather warning to expire Friday evening. This will set the stage for a quiet weekend, with highs expected to reach the 70s again by Sunday.
