Breaking down the Packers' final injury report from Week 5 against the Rams

The Green Bay Packers listed cornerback Jaire Alexander, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, tight end Luke Musgrave, offensive lineman Jordan Morgan, cornerback Carrington Valentine, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and defensive lineman Jonathan Ford as questionable and receivers Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs as doubtful and ruled out defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt on the final injury report before facing the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.

How will the injury situation impact Sunday's showdown?

Here's a detailed breakdown of the Packers' most recent injury report prior to Week 5:

From (1)

DL Devonte Wyatt (ankle): The Packers' best interior passer is out after injuring his ankle in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Vikings. He hasn't practiced all week, so it's possible this is a multi-week injury. Expect more opportunities for Karl Brooks as an inside linebacker, and Colby Wooden will likely be active for the first time in three weeks.

Doubtful (2)

Full-back Christian Watson (ankle): As As expected, Watson is expected to be out for at least a week. The good news is that the Packers haven't completely ruled him out, even after he missed all three practices this week, so his return next week is a real possibility.

WR Romeo Doubs (personal): Doubs did not train on Thursday or Friday because he was dealing with a personal issue and is unlikely to play on Sunday. If the Packers are without Watson and Doubs, expect both Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton to have heavy workloads in the passing game.

Questionable (7)

CB Jaire Alexander (groin): He practiced in a limited capacity on both Thursday and Friday, so Alexander should have a chance of returning after a one-game absence on Sunday. LaFleur said he was “feeling better” Friday.

OL Elgton Jenkins (knee): Jenkins has had limited practice over the past two days, so it's likely he will play on Sunday.

TE Luke Musgrave (ankle): He hasn't trained all week, but that's questionable. Musgrave is well behind Tucker Kraft in terms of playing time, and his absence would allow more snaps for Ben Sims. Expect the Packers to field significantly fewer 12 players with Musgrave out.

OL Jordan Morgan (shoulder): He has trained all three days this week, suggesting a return. The bigger question is whether he will return to a rotation with Sean Rhyan at right-back. It's possible Rhyan has played too well over the last two weeks to share snaps again.

CB Carrington Valentine (ankle): He should return after missing two straight games. With Alexander's status unknown, Valentin's return could come at a good time. He would be a likely starter if Alexander can't go, or would share with Eric Stokes again if Alexander was available.

LB Edgerrin Cooper (hip): He re-injured his hip, aggravating an injury he sustained in training camp. Although Cooper missed practice on Thursday, he was available on Wednesday and Friday.

DL Jonathan Ford (calf): Although not yet on the 53-man roster, Ford isn't far from being ready to return. The Packers have a three-week window to activate him.

No status designation

The following players do not have a status designation and will be eligible to play Sunday against the Rams: DL Kenny Clark, QB Jordan Love.

Rams injury report

The Rams ruled out receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) and defensive lineman Larrell Murchinson (forearm/foot). Offensive lineman Steve Availa, offensive lineman Jonah Jackson, safety John Johnson III and receiver Puka Nacua are on injured reserve.
