Evidence of drug abuse leads to the arrest of two people at Livingston RV Park

POLK COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) – Tips about suspected drug activity at a mobile home park led to the arrest of a man and a woman on Tuesday.

On October 1, the Polk County Sheriff's Office Narcotics and Criminal Investigation Divisions investigated community tips about suspicious activity at the Longhorn Valley RV Park.

Investigators attempted to speak to the people in a mobile home who were suspected of selling and using narcotics. Despite repeated attempts to contact them, the people in the mobile home did not respond to the officers.

While they were still on site, law enforcement authorities identified a suspicious case and obtained a search warrant for the mobile home. During the execution of the warrant, investigators discovered meth and marijuana in the RV, leading to the arrests of Whiteney Vandiver, 34, formerly of Coleman, and Dawson Barnett, 31, formerly of Lott.

Both Vandiver and Barnett were charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office continues to encourage community members to report suspicious activity so it can be investigated.
