Tennessee teenager wanted for murder was arrested in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – An 18-year-old wanted in connection with a murder in Tennessee has been arrested in Bay County, according to local authorities.

Springfield Police officials said they were contacted by Clarksville, Tennessee, police for help locating Luke Crase, who had an active arrest warrant and was a person of interest in the ongoing murder investigation .

“This case is a prime example of how well law enforcement in Bay County works together. “Our surrounding agencies responded immediately to assist as we requested additional resources so we could ensure this incident was safely resolved,” Springfield Police Chief Barry Roberts said in a news release. “When I speak with law enforcement agencies across the state, they are often impressed with how well all of our local agencies work together and support each other.”

Clarksville police believed Crase lived at a residence in the 100 block of Martin Lake Drive. Springfield police began surveillance of the home and confirmed Crase's presence.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities took Crase into custody without incident. He was taken to the Bay County Jail, where he was later interviewed by a Clarksville detective.

The investigation is still ongoing.
