1 dead, 3 injured after head-on crash in Fairplain Township

FAIRPLAIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Greenville woman was killed in a head-on crash in Fairplain Township Thursday evening.

According to the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), the accident occurred near Sheridan Road and Boyer Street around 10 p.m.

We're told a 25-year-old West Bloomfield man was attempting to pass another vehicle in a northbound Audi when he collided with a southbound Chrysler.

According to officials, the passenger of the Audi, a 19-year-old woman, died at the scene of the accident. She wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

According to MCSO, both drivers were hospitalized in non-life-threatening condition. The passenger in the Chrysler vehicle, a 15-year-old Alma boy, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The impact ejected the Chrysler's engine from the vehicle, investigators added.

It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.
