Man accused of shooting and killing mother in front of 4-year-old, formally charged – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

DAYTON – A man accused of shooting a woman in front of her 4-year-old daughter has been formally charged.

Noah Corbitt, 23, of Dayton, was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on charges of murder, discharging a firearm on or near restricted premises and aggravated assault.

As News Center 7 previously reported, 26-year-old mother Jermea Lyle was shot on September 21 while sitting in her boyfriend's car with her four-year-old daughter in the backseat.

She was taken to hospital where she later died.

Prosecutors said Corbitt was arguing with another man about money.

The other man got into the car with Lyle as a passenger.

Corbitt followed the car before firing at least one shot at the vehicle, striking Lyle.

He is currently in the Montgomery County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bond

It is scheduled to be arranged on October 8th.
