Lewiston man arrested for multiple vehicle thefts, police recover stolen items

LEWISTON, ID – Today, the City of Lewiston Police Department arrested 23-year-old Johnathan Ryan of Lewiston on a larceny charge after investigating multiple vehicle break-ins in the 2700 block of 17th Street in Lewiston.

This morning, police responded to the Canyon View Apartment complex on 17th Street where it was discovered that approximately six different vehicles had been broken into overnight.

Using the device's GPS location data, police were able to trace a piece of stolen property from the burglaries to a residence in the 600 block of 18th Avenue in Lewiston.

Lewiston police arrested Ryan at the apartment on an outstanding warrant in Washington and found several of the other reported stolen items. Ryan was arrested for grand theft.
