Willimantic man arrested for burglary and attempted robbery: CSP

VERNON, Conn. – Connecticut State Police report a Willimantic man was arrested Thursday morning on two separate felony warrants.

Kwitzpatrick Duffany, 37, was taken into custody at Rockville Superior Court around 9:35 a.m. State police say he is responsible for a burglary in Mansfield and an attempted robbery in Ashford.

According to State Police, Troop C personnel investigated a commercial burglary at a jewelry store in Mansfield on May 25, 2023. State police said the investigation produced a positive DNA match for Duffany on items left at the scene.

Duffany was charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass. He was issued a $75,000 court bond.

State Police said Troop C personnel also investigated a report of a suspicious person at a convenience store in Ashford on May 31, 2023. The investigation led to the discovery of a stolen gun and a conspiracy to rob the store.

Duffany was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, five counts of third-degree identity theft, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle and carrying a… After According to state police, the incident was one count of robbery with a handgun without a permit and one count of attempted robbery in the first degree.

According to state police, Duffany was given a court-set bond of $175,000 and was then turned over to the custody of Judicial Marshals for arraignment later that day.
