Boise man arrested and charged with murder

Boise police said 35-year-old Scott Stevens was arrested after stabbing someone who later died.

BOISE, Idaho – A Boise man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The Boise Police Department (BPD) said it arrested 35-year-old Scott Stevens after he allegedly stabbed someone who later died from his injuries.

According to BPD, the stabbing happened around 3:35 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, on N. Mitchell Street, near Ustick Rd. Police said when they got there, the victim was stabbed and they were taken to hospital He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

The department said Stevens was on scene and they quickly took him into custody. Additionally, Stevens and the victim lived in a home with other adults and knew each other. Additionally, police said two of the other people in the home attempted to intervene but were stopped and threatened with a gun by Stevens.

Police said the attack appeared to be unprovoked, they had also recovered the weapon used in the crime and investigations were ongoing.

Stevens was charged with first-degree murder committed by the commission of certain felonies or by the use of certain weapons, and two counts of aggravated assault.

The victim's identity will be released once the coroner has notified next of kin.
