Gainesville man accused of sexually exploiting children

A Gainesville man remains in the Hall County Jail after being arrested Thursday, Oct. 3, on more than a dozen felony counts related to possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the Sheriff's Office said Hall County with.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) alerted Hall County investigators to “multiple instances” of suspicious activity at email addresses associated with 20-year-old Martin Pedro, said BJ Williams, spokesman Sheriff's Offices.

“The subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 18 videos showing children engaging in sexually explicit behavior,” she said.

Williams says the investigation into Pedro's online activity is ongoing and that additional charges are possible.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is assisting in the investigation. Pedro is currently being held without bail.
