US hiker claims to have spotted Bigfoot, video goes viral

Bigfoot is often described as a large, hairy, human-like creature.

A routine hiking trip in the Parallel Forest of Oklahoma's Wichita Mountains took an unexpected turn for a man who recorded what many believe is one of the clearest sightings of Bigfoot. The nine-second video, which has gone viral on TikTok with over 1.7 million views, shows a tall, shadowy figure moving through a dense forest, the New York Post reports. Although the footage is somewhat unclear, the hiker described the moment as the “scariest” of his life.

In the video, the hiker can be heard panting as he films what appears to be a bipedal figure in the distance, supposedly sniffing flowers and looking in his direction.

“I really think I caught a damn Bigfoot on camera,” he captioned the post, describing his experience as follows: “Scariest moment of my life and I really think I caught a damn Bigfoot on camera in the parallel forest caught. I was just out sightseeing and enjoying the day when I saw something in the distance. I'm still shaking as I write this.

Despite the excitement, there is skepticism about the footage, with critics calling it another hoax or a misidentified animal. One user quipped: “Brings back memories of Harry and the Hendersons,” referencing the 1987 Bigfoot film. Another dismissed the sighting, saying: “It’s a costume. There are no bones or muscle movements visible in these feet.”

Conversely, some viewers expressed a deep belief in the existence of Bigfoot. One commenter shared a detailed account linking the creature to various Native American traditions: “Songs honoring Bigfoot have existed among the Yurok for thousands of years…We have simply forgotten it as a society.”

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is a legendary creature often depicted as a hairy, human-like creature that roams the forests of North America, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. It is known to be characterized by huge footprints, often reported to be up to 24 inches long and 8 inches wide.

The myth surrounding Bigfoot has existed in American culture for generations and, despite a lack of scientific evidence, has led to numerous expeditions and investigations aimed at substantiating its existence. This mythical creature continues to capture the imagination and appears in various films, documentaries and publications.
