Motorcyclist in serious condition after crash near Tropicana, Torrey Pines

A motorcyclist is injured after an accident near Tropicana Ave. and Torrey Pines Dr. on Friday in serious condition.

According to Las Vegas police, an accident occurred on Foothill Blvd around 4:45 p.m. and Sepulveda Blvd.

According to police, on-scene evidence and surveillance indicated that a 2002 Chysryler PT Cruiser was traveling northbound on Sepulveda through the intersection.

A 2016 Zero motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Foothills and was approaching the intersection.

According to officials, the motorcycle failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into the side of the PT Cruiser.

The motorcyclist, a 48-year-old man, was taken to UMC Trauma, where hospital staff said his injuries were serious.

The driver of the Chrysler, a 56-year-old man, remained at the scene of the accident and completed and passed a standardized sobriety test.

The crash is under investigation.
