Boise man arrested on murder charges after fatal stabbing at Boise home

A Boise man has been arrested on murder charges, according to police.

Boise Police received a report of a stabbing just before 3:30 p.m. Police responded to the scene in the 5000 block of North Mitchell Street and located the victim, who was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police found the suspect, 35-year-old Scott Stevens, at the scene where he was taken into custody.

Police say Stevens and the victim knew each other and both lived in the home with other adults. Police said the other adults tried to intervene and were threatened by Stevens while he was holding a gun.

Police said they believe the attack on the victim was unprovoked. The police seized the weapon.

The investigation is ongoing and the victim's name will be released by the Ada County Coroner at a later date after next of kin has been notified.

Stevens was booked into the Ada County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
