Hashem Safieddine killed in Israeli attack in Beirut – Al Hadath

Hashem Safieddine, the presumed successor to former Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, was killed along with his companions in an Israeli strike in southern Beirut on Friday, the Saudi news organization said Al Hadath reported on Saturday morning.

The Saudi media claimed Israel had confirmed the elimination, but The Jerusalem Post could not yet verify the Saudi report.

Israel allegedly tried to eliminate Safieddine in the Beirut suburb of Dahieh, Israeli media reported on Friday night, citing Lebanese reports.

Three Israeli officials later said New York Times On Saturday morning, AFP news agency said the attacks targeted a meeting of senior Hezbollah officials, including Safieddine.
