Las Vegas Justice Court, Division 4 | EDITORIAL | RJ supported

Judicial courts in Nevada hear misdemeanors, conduct preliminary hearings, and make judgments in small civil and eviction cases. Four judges on the Las Vegas Justice Court are ahead of voters.

In Division 4, five candidates are competing for a vacant spot. Four of them – Suzan Baucum, Holly Stoberski, Hilary Heap and Jessica Smith-Peterson – are well qualified. But two of the candidates, Ms. Baucum and Ms. Stoberski, have a slight advantage in our opinion.

Ms. Baucum served on the Justice Court bench for twelve years before narrowly losing re-election in 2022. Your experience would be an advantage. Since Ms. Stoberski has been practicing law for 25 years and has been a provisional Justice of the Peace since 2011, her transition to the bench should be seamless. Both are consistently committed to transparency. Voters can't go wrong with this Suzan Baucum or Holly Stoberski.
