Baltimore police arrest three people in a handgun incident in the Central District


BALTIMORE – A traffic stop Thursday evening in Baltimore's Central District led to the arrest of three people and the recovery of two firearms, according to police.

On October 3, at approximately 9:45 p.m., investigators with the Central District DAT Unit stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Harford Avenue that contained two unknown males. The driver, a 20-year-old man, fled the scene on foot but was arrested shortly afterwards and hiding in a closet at a nearby residence on Abbott Court. A 40-year-old woman at the residence was also arrested for hindering pursuit.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a Ruger LCP .380 pistol under the driver's seat. When the passenger, a 24-year-old man, was subsequently patted down, a Glock 23 was discovered in his pocket.

All three suspects were arrested without further incident and taken to the Central Booking and Intake Facility (CBIF) for processing. The investigation is ongoing.

    ASBURY PARK, NJ – The annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk and Undead Festival will take over the city's boardwalk on Saturday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The free event, now in its 16th year, will see thousands of attendees don their best zombie attire for a day dedicated to horror and the undead.

    The Zombie Walk, first launched in 2008, has grown into a huge celebration of zombie culture and attracts hordes of participants every year. In previous years, the event held the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of zombies, with over 10,000 participants, before being surpassed by an event in Minneapolis in 2014.

    The walk begins at the Asbury Park Boardwalk and the day will be filled with horror-themed activities and entertainment, making it a must-see for fans of the undead.

  • Off-duty NYPD deputy arrested for criminal mischief in the Bronx

    BRONX, NY - An off-duty NYPD deputy was arrested late Wednesday night in the Bronx, according to police.

    Marciel Mojica, 50, was taken into custody in the 49th Precinct on October 2 at approximately 10:53 p.m. Mojica, an assistant officer with the NYPD, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief.
