Olympiacos Piraeus was the losing team in the opening game of the EuroLeague season against Fenerbahce in Istanbul, and it was a thrilling encounter.

Not only did head coaches Georgios Bartzokas and Sarunas Jasikevicius engage in a heated exchange as they were about to shake hands at the end of the game, but Shaquielle McKissic was also the protagonist of an unfortunate situation that occurred during the game.

As the clock neared the halfway point of the fourth quarter with Olympiacos leading 66-65, a fan from the stands called out to the American guard, who responded and received a technical foul. The violent supporter was then forced to leave his seat in the arena.

Shaquielle McKissic spoke to Nova Sports about the accident after the game. “It is unacceptable to allow such incidents in a top organization such as the EuroLeague. I kept telling the referees what was going on between me and the Fenerbahçe fans, but no one paid attention,” he said.

“I understand and accept the referee’s decision [Ilija] Belosevic,” he then clarified. “I accept the technical foul he gave me,” he also said of the referee’s decision. “I left the game because I couldn't concentrate on the game. “I have been playing in the EuroLeague for six years and have never experienced anything like this,” continued the experienced American guard.

He also made a comparison that makes everyone realize how serious and rude the argument was. “I played a lot of games. I played against Panathinaikos and I've never experienced anything like that. “What I heard here tonight is something I have never heard before,” he concluded.
