Judge Camacho has scheduled an Oct. 17 hearing for attorneys and the court to set a date for Goodin's trial to begin next year.

Although he admitted to mutilating and murdering his wife with a machete in the Kingman Walmart parking lot on July 12, Lynda Goodin, 53, previously pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Goodin told Kingman police that his wife was a witch and that “the wicked must be killed.” Amann has argued that his client's biblical and religious fixation made communication and legal representation a challenge.
