Teen arrested after car chase | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Arkansas State Police arrested a 17-year-old murder suspect in Texarkana on Wednesday evening who fled from police in a stolen vehicle while out on bond, a news release said.

Police responded around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and assisted Texarkana police in pursuing the teen, who was not named in the news release, as he fled from Jefferson Avenue in Texarkana to Interstate 30, where he had previously clocked speeds of about 95 The release states that while attempting to pass another driver in the median, he lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

The teen is scheduled to go on trial next month for a first-degree murder charge in the Sept. 29, 2023, death of Kendrick Roquemore in Texarkana, the release said.

The release said he posted a $250,000 bond in connection with the murder charge. After being treated and released by Christus St. Michael Healthcare, the teen was transported to a juvenile detention center in Pine Bluff.

On Thursday, Miller County District Judge Carlton Jones revoked the teen's bail on the murder charge and set a new bond of $250,000 for the new theft and escape charges the teen faces, according to the press release.
