Ohio Board of Elections Director Arrested and Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio – The director of the Pickaway County Board of Elections has been arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a minor.

Matthew Nicklas, 41, was arrested Friday after Circleville police officers and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Special Victims Unit executed a search warrant at his home. Our news partners at WBNS-10 TV reported.

Nicklas will initially be arraigned in Pickaway County Municipal Court, with additional charges expected, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office said.

He is being held without bail in the Pickaway County Jail.

The Pickaway County Board of Elections said Nicklas was removed from his position effective Friday.

The investigation is still ongoing.
