Training ordered after driver with suspended license collides with Detroit fire truck

A Detroit fire truck collided with a white SUV at an intersection, causing the fire truck to crash into a bus stop, but no injuries were reported. The SUV driver, whose license was revoked, was believed to be at fault, although some criticized the fire truck driver for failing to ensure the intersection was clear.

4 St. Clair Shores voters and 3 poll workers charged with double voting

Four voters and three poll workers in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, face felony charges for double voting in the August 2024 primary election. The voters, identified as Frank Prezzato, Stacy Kramer, Douglas Kempkins, Jr. and Geneva O'Day, reportedly cast both absentee and in-person ballots. Poll workers Patricia Guciardo, Emily McClintock and Molly Brasure are accused of facilitating this by instructing poll workers to override system warnings and alter voter files.

Former Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker sued by sexual assault survivor

Former Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker is facing a lawsuit from Brenda Tracy, a sexual assault survivor who accused him of sexual harassment. The lawsuit, filed in Ingham County Circuit Court, includes allegations of defamation, breach of contract, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress related to an incident in April 2022.

A popular Metro Detroit brewery plans to close its doors after one final weekend of operations.

Ascension Brewing, which has been open in Novi for nearly a decade, says Oct. 6 will be its last day of business.

Weather: Sunshine will start the weekend before rain showers begin Sunday in Metro Detroit

After ending the week with some sunshine, we will maintain the forecast for dry weather for the first part of the weekend.

High pressure will have a firm grip on the forecast, meaning we can expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day. Temperatures are cooler behind our frontal boundary, which continued into the end of the week. As the weekend begins, temperatures will climb into the high 60s.
