The incident took place around 5pm on October 1 when Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg while handling his own revolver at home. The gun reportedly fell from his hand and discharged, causing a deep wound to his leg.

As Govinda left the hospital, he thanked the doctors, staff and well-wishers who supported him during this difficult time. He thanked his fans, politicians and fellow actors who took care of his well-being.

Speaking about the incident, Govinda said, “At first I couldn't believe how the shooting happened – it was sudden and purely accidental.” He urged his fans to learn from his experience and be careful with firearms.

The actor also urged the media not to sensationalize the incident, stating, “Please do not give any other interpretation to this incident. The truth is that it was pure coincidence.”

Govinda was treated at the emergency room of the hospital where his leg was stitched with 8 to 10 stitches. He is now out of danger and recovering at home.
