Dallas Uber driver seen on video hitting passenger after argument over legroom

An Uber driver in Dallas was caught on video hitting a 68-year-old passenger in the back of the head after he complained about a lack of legroom in his vehicle, a report says.

According to Fox4 Dallas, the Suleman Gauba incident occurred on Wednesday in the city's Design District when he and his wife called for an Uber to take them to a local Walmart.

“I can’t sit in the back seat,” Gauba told the station, which reported he complained to the driver about not having enough legroom in the back of the car. “Very small place, you know?”

Gauba told Fox4 Dallas that the driver then told him he was canceling his ride and asked him to get out of the vehicle.

The Dallas Police Department tells Fox News Digital that a preliminary investigation determined the victim first “entered the vehicle of the suspect, a rideshare driver.”

“The victim and the suspect got into an argument and the suspect hit the victim on the head,” police added. “The suspect left the location.”

As of Saturday, the suspect — who appears in the footage to be a black man last seen wearing a red shirt and dark pants — had not been located.

Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
