Neenah Rockets Impress Kimberly Papermakers Soccer

NEENAH – The Neenah Rockets last defeated the Kimberly Papermakers in 2005, but a dramatic 29-28 come-from-behind win on Friday ended their long losing streak.

It took a late field goal at Rocket Stadium to give Neenah a win over Kimberly for the first time in 19 years.

The Rockets scored first and led 6-0 after the first quarter.

But after a back-and-forth match, Kimberly was ahead 28-26.

Then Jack Klundt made his 26-yard field goal to seal the win.

The finale shook up the top of the Fox Valley Association standings and turned the final weeks of the season into a race for the championship.

Kimberly hosts Kaukauna next week at Papermaker Stadium after the Ghosts earned a 13-10 overtime win over Appleton North.

Neenah's only conference loss came in week four against Kaukauna.
