NRI tenants evicted sparks outrage

A recent video that made the rounds online has caused division on social media. The video posted on Instagram appears to be from Ontario, Canada, where a landlord can be seen throwing away an Indian tenant's belongings while the tenant stands helpless and shirtless, watching in disbelief!

The Indian man is seen trying to verbally protest his landlord's actions, but his words seem to fall on deaf ears as the landlord continues to throw his things out the door. The 15-second video has split the internet in half, with some supporting the tenant while others justifying the landlord's actions.

People have been very vocal about the situation in the comments. One user writes: “Definitely not Brampton. The tenant can sue the landlord and essentially remain rent-free until the problem is resolved.” “The Indian is the Indian who doesn't take the warning seriously,” adds another user.

While no further information on the situation is currently available, it is no secret that many tenants from abroad face similar treatment from people in countries like Canada. Tenants in particular have always been the torment of their landlords.

This has resulted in laws becoming much stricter and in favor of the tenant to prevent situations such as unlawful evictions by the landlord. It's also no secret that many tenants often use these laws to gain an unfair advantage over their landlords, as a dispute can take months to resolve while the tenant is literally getting free accommodation!
