18-year-old Albany man arrested in domestic violence case

Albany police arrested 18-year-old Brazil Watson of Albany on Saturday in connection with a domestic threatening incident.

They say the incident occurred Friday night in the 500 block of Third Street.

Officers said they received a report of a person in the residence with a gun call and responded around 8 p.m

Upon arrival, officers said they discovered Watson was involved in a physical altercation with a woman over personal issues at the home. During the incident, Watson threatened the woman with a pistol, police said.

Watson fled the scene before police arrived, Albany police said.

Shortly thereafter, patrol officers spotted Watson in the area of ​​Third and Ontario streets and attempted to stop him. He fled from officers on foot but was eventually arrested and taken into custody, police said.

According to Albany police, Watson was charged with second-degree menacing and obstructing governmental administration.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday morning in Albany City Criminal Court, police said.
