GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. – Earlier this week, the Gibson County Sheriff's Office announced it is searching for a missing Patoka woman. Now her husband has been arrested for murder.

Officials previously said Kayla Flaherty may have driven to Vincennes on Thursday in a “light blue 2019 Toyota Highlander.” They asked anyone with information about her disappearance to call 9-1-1.

Daniel Flaherty apparently first reported that his wife was missing on Thursday evening.

However, police recently announced that Daniel Flaherty was taken to the Gibson County Jail on Friday evening. They did not provide any further information about Kayla Flaherty, but said her husband's arrest was related to an “extensive investigation.”

The Sheriff's Office states, “We must weigh several things as we move forward with this investigation.”
