The best college football hype videos before Week 6

The Big Ten and SEC have proven to be the most dominant conferences in college football through the first five weeks of the season, and the same can be said in hype videos.

From Oregon's “Friday Night Lights” video before the Big Ten's home opener against Michigan State to Georgia's must-see masterpiece that features incredible music and sound design from start to finish, both the Big Ten and SEC delivered for tension week 6.

With that in mind, here's a look at the five most popular college football hype videos heading into Week 6 of the season:

Oregon Ducks

This video starts with a bang, featuring Billy Bob Thornton's iconic speech in “Friday Night Lights.” The idea of using the player's high school footage was brilliant and was seamlessly integrated into the whole thing, which was fun. Check out the :49 mark when the speech ends and the lights flash, creating a fun and exciting mood. The transitions in and out of the high school footage were fantastic, especially in the back half of the video.

Auburn Tigers

Capturing the viewer's attention with the opening title, this video celebrates the late Ralph “Shug” Jordan, the winningest coach in Auburn football history. The inclusion of still images was done brilliantly in this video, and it was impossible not to like the images of Shug's coaching at the time, which gave viewers a sense of the history of the rivalry against Georgia. The way the auburn orange bleeds across the screen at the :44 second mark gives you goosebumps, and the montage at the end leaves the viewer wanting more.

Georgia Bulldogs

“Tradition.”

That is the theme of this video that makes the viewer feel like they are watching a movie. The quality and attention to detail is so good. The video is narrated by Loran Smith, a track and field historian at the University of Georgia who should perhaps switch his career to acting because yes, he was that good. The music and sound design made this video even more dramatic and even slightly emotional. It does a great job of capturing the spirit and history of the Georgia Bulldogs. Check out the 1:22 mark with the office cutouts, that was a joy to watch and something new. And finally, how can you not love the shots of Georgia's beloved mascot Uga? Approved for dogs!

Arkansas Razorbacks

This video is narrated by Anthony Lucas, who scored the game-winning touchdown against Tennessee in 1999. Check out the shot at :35 as the fans collapse the goalposts after the game. Arkansas has won the last three meetings between these two programs, so there were plenty of exciting moments to choose from to showcase the history of this rivalry. The writing was really good and Lucas did a great job of keeping the energy up throughout.

Washington Huskies

Another week, another team revisiting their past struggles against Michigan. This week it's Washington, which takes us back to last year's national championship game. This video contains lots of beautiful footage and is narrated by former Washington QB Cody Pickett, who does an excellent job of highlighting several themes throughout the video, including making memories and brotherhood.
