Investigators search for driver in fatal hit-and-run crash in Davie

DAVIE, Fla — Rain fell on the balloons, flowers and cards marking a growing memorial in Davie Saturday morning. It was a tribute to the 32-year-old victim of a hit-and-run accident along Flamingo Road, south of the 595 Expressway.

Lori Koons burst into tears there. She was heartbroken as she said her partner Nicole Bobb slept with her and 30 minutes later, Friday morning, she was dead. Investigators had not yet released information about a suspect in the fatal hit-and-run crash.

A driver hit Bobb on Flamingo Road in Davie about a month ago. She survived. Police officers found her dead in the same area on Friday. Koons said Bobb, who was a friend of 15 years and a partner of five months, was on her way to the house she shared with a roommate.

Bobb's adoptive parents, Elizabeth and Jeff Bobb, hope the driver who killed them and fled will turn himself in to law enforcement.

“We're just shocked that someone hit her and left her in the middle of the street,” the grieving mother said.

Investigators asked anyone with information to call the Davie Police Department at 954-693-8200 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
