Schuylerville man arrested for drunk driving in Halfmoon

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office arrested Aaron R. Carden, 32, of Schuylerville on a DWI charge early Thursday morning.

Carden is charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and also operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license while intoxicated, police said.

The sheriff's office stopped a vehicle on Ushers Road at 12:43 a.m. in Halfmoon for failing to maintain its lane and failing to make a turn signal.

According to police, the investigation following the stop led to Carden's arrest.

According to authorities, Carden was charged with DUI, first-degree AUO, refusing a breath test, illegal signal and unsafe departure from a lane.

The DWI was upgraded to a Class D felony because he had two previous convictions in the past decade, the sheriff's office said.

Carden was released on an appearance ticket from Clifton Park Municipal Court, pending further proceedings in Halfmoon Municipal Court.
