Drug bust leads to recovery of rifles, handguns from Edgewater Home: Police

Edgewater resident Benjamin William Monias is charged with drug and weapons possession. The ongoing investigation began Wednesday when investigators conducted a traffic stop on Oct. 2 in the area of ​​Central Avenue and Muddy Creek Road.

According to police, during this stop, investigators seized approximately 6.6 grams of suspected cocaine and 31 suspected oxycodone tablets, which led to further investigation that resulted in the seizure of several weapons.

The following day, investigators searched a home in the 1600 block of Bay Ridge Road in Edgewater and seized the following:

  • Silver, Colt, 1911, .38 handgun;
  • Black, Lama, 1911, 45 caliber handgun;
  • Black, Colt, 1911, .45 caliber handgun;
  • Black, Colt, 1911, .45 caliber, Government Model pistol;
  • Charter Arms, Pathfinder, .22 caliber handgun;
  • Ruger, Speed ​​6, .357 Magnum Pistol;
  • German sporting weapons, 1911, .22 caliber handgun slide;
  • Remington, Model 597, .22 caliber; Gun;
  • UTG Pro, .223 caliber rifle;
  • Remington, 700 rifle;
  • P80 pistol below;
  • Milled AR-15 Handgun Bottom;
  • Ammunition.

A second search in the 200 block of South River Clubhouse Road in Harwood also resulted in the seizure of a Glenfield Model 60 .22 caliber handgun and a Glock Model 21 .45 caliber handgun.
