According to his colleagues, Frye died by suicide earlier this week.

At the New Hampshire Congressional Law Enforcement Awards ceremony on Friday, two of the officers Frye worked with received the award on his behalf. The award will be presented to his family at a later date.

Col. Kevin Jordan of New Hampshire Fish and Game said he and Frye's family want people to know there are mental health resources for people who are struggling.

“With the kindness of his family, we wanted to take the opportunity to tell people about all the resources available in New Hampshire to prevent this type of tragedy and hope that people battling such demons will seek out these resources so that you “We can avoid that.” Jordan said.
