Holden man arrested and charged with domestic violence after standoff with police

HOLDEN — A domestic dispute led to a standoff early Saturday morning and ended with the arrest of a 32-year-old Holden man on domestic violence charges.

Authorities were called to a residence at 904 Eastern Avenue around 1:35 a.m. after reports of a family dispute.

Upon arrival, police identified the suspect as Wilbur Corson, who was inside the home and refused to come out.

The Holden Police Department obtained a search warrant and worked with the Brewer Police Department and the Maine State Police Tactical Team to resolve the situation.

The tactical team managed to arrest Corson without further incident.

Corson was taken to the Penobscot County Jail where he was charged with aggravated domestic violence.

The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
