Woman in critical condition after pedestrian accident

The accident occurred at the intersection of Prince George Street and Armistead Avenue.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – A woman is in critical condition after she was struck while walking in Williamsburg.

Williamsburg Fire and Police responded to the pedestrian crash on Armistead Avenue near Prince George Street at 3:23 p.m. Saturday.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a red Toyota Tacoma was traveling east on Prince George Street and turning left onto Armistead Avenue when it struck the 55-year-old woman walking on Armistead Avenue.

The woman was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition.

Williamsburg Police are conducting the investigation. At this time, neither alcohol nor speed appear to be responsible for the accident. York County Fire & Life Safety responded to assist.
