Two people were injured in the accident in Grandville

28th Street SW was closed between the 3100 and 3200 blocks for about three hours Saturday afternoon following the accident, but has since reopened.

GRANDVILLE, Mich. – Two people are in the hospital after a crash in Grandville Saturday afternoon, according to Grandville Police.

At approximately 12:10 p.m., Grandville police and firefighters were dispatched to the 3100 block of 28th Street SW for a crash.

According to police, an 80-year-old Grand Rapids woman entered 28th Street from a parking lot and was struck by another vehicle traveling west on 28th Street.

Police said the woman had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The other driver, a 29-year-old man from Wyoming, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.

28th Street SW was closed between the 3100 and 3200 blocks for about three hours following the crash, but has since reopened.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
