Drug raids in North Adams result in multiple arrests and narcotics seizures

NORTH ADAMS – North Adams police made multiple arrests Thursday, Oct. 3, after two separate operations disrupted local drug distribution networks.

In the early morning hours, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence implicated in drug sales.

The target of the investigation yielded extensive evidence, including crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials and cash suspected to be the proceeds of the illegal trade.

A man, whose identity was not released, was arrested at the scene.

He is charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, which is a subsequent felony.

Later that evening, detectives stopped a vehicle just over the border in Adams.

The driver, whose license was revoked, was taken into custody.

The officers' observations led to a probable cause search of the vehicle and its two other occupants.

During this search, additional quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, pills suspected of containing fentanyl, additional scales and packaging materials, and cash were seized.

All three Pittsfield men were arrested. The charges ranged from operating after suspension, possession with intent to distribute Class B substances, possession of Class A substances and conspiracy.

The North Adams Police Department thanked the Adams Police Department for their assistance during the vehicle stop.

The operations underscore ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.

Further details regarding the legal proceedings against the arrested individuals will be announced shortly.
