PPB News – Portland Police Bureau

Officers from the Portland Police Department and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Transit Police Division (MCSO TPD) worked together to combat public drug abuse in the Hazelwood neighborhood

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct and East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team, along with MCSO TPD, continued their efforts to combat open drug use, particularly suppliers, including in the East Burnside Street areas Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast 148th Avenue operated as the Gateway Transit Center at Northeast 99th Avenue and Northeast Pacific Street.

PPB has received many concerns from the community regarding open-air drug use in these areas and has observed drug suppliers targeting people suffering from addiction. PPB is committed to working in these areas because we know that addicts in these locations utilize a variety of services with the goal of recovery.
