Two were taken to hospital after a “serious vehicle accident” in Surrey on Saturday evening

Two people were taken to hospital Saturday evening in Surrey following what the RCMP describes as a “serious vehicle accident.”

Emergency services told 1130 NewsRadio a call came in about the incident at 67A Avenue and 144 Street just after 4:30 p.m

“Six ambulances were dispatched and paramedics provided emergency medical care to three individuals on scene,” EHS said.

“Paramedics transported two patients to the hospital.”

Corp. Corp. Dave Noon, a forensic collision reconstruction specialist, posted on social media that the road in the area was closed.

“LMDICARS [Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service] is stationed at the intersection of 144th St and Hyland Rd, #SurreyBC, for a serious vehicle accident,” Noon said.

“144th Street is currently closed in both directions between 64th and 68th Avenues.”

Video shared with 1130 NewsRadio shows police cordoning off an area near a bus stop and appearing to see a pickup truck in the yard of a home.

Noon says there is no estimated time for the road to reopen and detours have been put in place.

We have contacted Surrey RCMP and Surrey Fire Service for further information.

This is a developing story.
