Stevie Nicks works with the Eagles – but not these Eagles

It's a busy season for Stevie Nicks – in just one week the Fleetwood Mac singer did it released a new song, announced a co-headlining stadium show with Billy Joel and announced an appearance on the upcoming Eagles Christmas album.

But 1970s music lovers be warned: She did not work with the “Hotel California” Eagles.

Instead, Nicks worked on the third and final installment of Christmas music from a Philadelphia Eagles trio: Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Kelce announced on October 2 that Nicks would be a guest artist on “A Philly Special Christmas Party.”

“The crossover we didn't know we needed,” reads a caption on the X account for “New Heights,” a podcast that Kelce and his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, run. moderate together.

About Jason Kelce's 2024 Christmas album

Although Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, he continues his musical collaborations with his former teammates, Philadelphia Eagles offensive linemen Mailata and Johnson.

The trio's 2022 debut album, “A Philly Special Christmas,” raised $1.25 million for charity. The second album, “A Philly Special Christmas Special,” attracted Patti LaBelle and grossed more than $2.5 million, according to PhillyVoice.

The real driving force behind the music is Mailata, who showed off his vocal skills Season 7 from “The Masked Singer.”

“He’s a gifted musician,” Charlie Hall, the War on Drugs drummer and Christmas album producer, told USA Today. “Of course he can sing. You hear him singing and it's not a joke. It’s real.”

Mailata's love of music stems from his childhood in New Zealand, where he often sang at church services.

“You’re there singing the whole time,” Mailata told USA Today. “You hold a service at home, you say a prayer at home and you get to sing. It's just you and your family. That's why I always grew up with it. The Polynesian people in general just love music, so that’s where the influence comes from.”

The new album will be released on November 29th and will contain three original songs, according to CBS. Below is the track list:

  • “A special Christmas party in Philly”
