Two arrested in shooting incident near Quincy University – Muddy River News

QUINCY – A man and a woman were arrested Saturday following an incident Friday evening in which shots were fired near Quincy University's campus on North 18th Street.

The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. Friday when witnesses said two people were asked to leave a party in the 500 block of North 18th. According to witnesses, after being asked to leave, the man pulled out a pistol and fired several shots into the air before leaving the scene with a woman in a white pickup truck.

On Saturday around 4 p.m., a Quincy woman, Enedina Serna, 26, was questioned and taken into custody regarding the incident. She is booked into the Adams County Jail on charges of aggravated use of a firearm and obstruction of justice.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Darren Callier, 28, of Quincy, who was arrested and is being held at the Marion County Jail in Palmyra. He is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm.

The police speak of an isolated case.
