Authorities said Jordan Lawyer attacked both parents in the home with a baseball bat.

Jordan Lawyer was arrested around 11:20 a.m. Friday in downtown Enosburg, state police said. He and a Jeep he was driving were the subject of a “be on the lookout” alert, and first responders located the Jeep on Route 105, state police said.

When a police officer attempted to initiate a stop, Jordan Lawyer sped away and a brief chase ensued but was aborted upon entering Enosburg, authorities said.

The Jeep collided with a vehicle driven by a game warden and troopers fired a nonlethal impact grenade, taking Jordan Lawyer into custody, state police said.

Authorities say an autopsy will determine the official manner of Todd Lawyer's death.

Robin Lawyer was stable in the hospital Friday evening, according to state police.
