Former US President and republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump held a town hall-style rally Fayetteville, North Carolinaon Friday when his attempt to escape embarrassment led to another viral Social media moment.

While speaking at the event, Trump falsely blamed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), who spent disaster funds on migrants, refused to sit in a chair he described as a booby trap set by the vice president and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

“I think I’ll run,” the ex-president says in a video clip from town hall.

Trump continues: “This chair is the most uncomfortable chair. I've had it. First of all, it spins, and the one thing I don't want to do is fall on my butt, because that will be – that will be – the only story. They'll say, 'Sir, you did great.' Too bad you fell.' That would be the only story.”

“So I’m not sitting in this rut. I think it's a booby trap that Kamala set there.

In the clip, Representative Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, who co-hosted the event in Fayetteville, can be seen standing up as soon as Trump refuses to sit down.

For the next half minute, the congresswoman stands and laughs at her fellow Republican's comments.

However, Trump couldn't resist the chair for too long before he finally sat on it, as other videos from the North Carolina town hall show.

Paulina, the first Mexican-American woman to hold a congressional seat for her state, later supported Trump's allegations of diversion of funds against FEMA.

“I believe that they intentionally — and this is my opinion — did not help these residents because it was the red communities that were affected.” [by Hurricane Helene]. Let's call a spade a spade. Do your job and do it better,” the representative said.

The White House has since denied the claims.
