Newark PD hosts drug take-back event this month – Finger Lakes Daily News

The Newark Police Department will host a drug take-back day later this month.

Officers from the Newark Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration will be at Wegmans on National Drug Take Back Day to give community members an opportunity to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications. Liquids such as cough syrup must remain in their original container with the lid tightly closed. Syringes, sharp objects and illegal drugs are not accepted.

Since its inception, National Drug Take Back Day has removed 9,285 tons of medications from circulation.

The event will take place on October 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
