Suspected 'Spirit of Parliament' fraudster arrested

After the debate, police chief Lt. Gen. Thiti Saengsawang tasked Thiradej to locate and arrest her to prevent her from causing more harm.

Thiradej noted that she had fled to rented rooms in Lat Krabang and often moved around to avoid arrest.

After arresting her in a rented room, police located her car parked at a hotel where several pieces of evidence were found, including a white dress uniform, a black jacket with the “Parliament” label sewn on it, and a black jacket with… Prime Minister's Office label.

Police said Suwadee had 14 convictions for fraud. For example, on May 12 last year, she was arrested and charged by police in Nakhon Si Thammarat for allegedly persuading her victims to transfer 1.7 million baht to her to invest in an “Uncle Tu Plus” card “project to invest. She told her victims that she was Prayut's secretary or “Uncle Tu.”

In the most recent case on September 27, she was accused by the Bang Pho police station of dressing like a public official and wearing rank insignia to deceive people on the parliament grounds.

After her arrest, Suwadee claimed she had no intention of deceiving anyone. She said she borrowed the white dress from a friend to have her photo taken in parliament and to stand as a political party's election candidate.

She said that although she was sentenced to three years in prison in the 1.7 million baht fraud case, she is fighting the case in the appeal court.
