Cadent Gas begins gas leak repairs in Slough

The traffic calming measures were installed at the junction of Farnham Road with Sheffield Road and Edinburgh Avenue on Friday October 4th.

Cadent Gas told Slough Borough Council the roadworks would facilitate emergency repairs to an “immediate gas leak”.

The multi-way traffic lights are expected to remain on the route until next Friday, October 11th.

A council spokesman said work was being monitored “to clear the site as quickly as possible”.

Residents reacted angrily to the news, with Pretoria Carter telling the local authority on Friday morning that it had been “terrible to come through the street”.

Meanwhile, Bev Kindred, who works nearby, said she had heard “the constant tooting of frustrated drivers lately” and Karen Elliman described the route as “a nightmare even at the best of times.”
