Elon Musk asks, “Who knew?” about the Diddy allegations, even though he calls the accused rapist “a good friend.”

Critics were quick to highlight Musk's ties to Combs

Elon Musk is facing backlash for publicly questioning which prominent figures knew about the extensive abuse allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs, even though Musk had ties to the music mogul as both an investor and a friend.

Musk reached out to musicians made possible.

“How many people in the music and entertainment industry knew about this?” Musk asked his followers.

Critics were quick to highlight Musk's ties to Combs, who was arrested on federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, allegations that Combs has denied.

One user wrote: “Hmmm, maybe you could have asked him when he invested in your Twitter deal.”

Luke Zaleski, legal affairs editor at Condé Nast, asked, “How many times have you met Diddy?”

“There is literally a photo of you with Ghislaine Maxwel,” the third user pointed out.

A fund affiliated with Sean “Diddy” Combs is an investor in X, according to a list of backers filed in federal court in August.

According to a book by New York Times reporters Kate Conger and Ryan Mac, Musk has also previously claimed that he and Combs were good friends. The book notes that Musk made this statement during a meeting in which an executive at Revolt TV, a media company founded by Combs, expressed concerns about increasing racism on X.

“I don't know if you know this, but Puff is an investor in Twitter,” Musk reportedly said, using Combs' nickname. “He is a good friend of mine. We write a lot.”
